YAWN
Yes one of those days here today.
But it is all to do with having spent 4 hours at the public hospital with an unwell daughter last night.
The same daughter that has been un-well for 3 weeks and with an awful cough.
Been back and forth to the Doctor in that time but cannot find anything wrong – no infections, no temps, nothing.
But Sunday the coughing reached a new level and the sniffles started.
When Miss Zoe gets or is getting sick she gets one of two things – cold sores on her lip or a red upper lip under her nose which is a sign of a cold for her.
So this time it was the red upper lip.
The sniffles started Sunday night but she was ok to go to school and headed off ok Monday morning.
By the time she came home Monday afternoon the red lip was worse and the coughing was worse too.
So it was close monitoring as she crashes very fast when she is sick.
Coughing was becoming more frequent to the extent of vomiting or near vomiting along with runny teary eyes.
Bed time saw her propped up with 3 pillows so that she was near upright but this didn’t help either. By now the wheezing had started so the ventolin came on board at around 9.40pm.
By 10.30 there was no improvement so I called an ambulance and they came by checked Miss Z out and took us to the hospital.
And of course as usual when you take a sick child to hospital they seem a little better when you get them there!!
We saw the doctor around 2.45am – Miss Z was dozing on and off and I had just started to doze off leaning on the side of her bed.
And of course after checking her over it is the same answers our GP had been giving us – couldn’t find anything like an infection or a temp so that was a good sign really.
Told to get her some cough medicine or a spray called Diflam to help her with the cough.
The nurse gave Miss Z some jelly and then after eating that she had a massive coughing fit like she has at home – so of course I was glad they heard what she was like.
So contacted hubby to come do the pick up – he had been sitting up waiting to hear from me as to what was happening…
By 3.45am we were all in bed and sounds asleep…
7.30am hubby was up dealing with the other children and left me to sleep.
We are no further advanced with Miss Z but realised we have a pead appointment on Wednesday so let’s hope he will check her out too.
So there is one tired Mummy, Hubby, little girl and also big girl – as she was worried about her little sister in the house today…
Roll on tonight for a good night’s sleep!!
cheers

here's hoping and praying you all get some sleep tonight…..maybe the Paed can enlighten you tomorrow. Xxx
My recent post Cringeworthy.
Thank you.
I don’t think it is normal either.
Will be making sure the pead gives her a good check over tomorrow.
