They Shall Grow Not Old
As We Who Are Left Grow Old
Age Shall Not Weary Them
Nor The Years Condem
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET
Linking up with Yay For Home for the regular Things I Know
This week I know that I am grateful for many things in life,
But I know how important it is that we remember those that fought for our country.
I know that I will take a minute’s silence at 11am.
I know it is important that the children of today
are still told about these wonderful, brave men and women fought
for their country.
I know it is sad for the many lives that were lost during the wars.
I also know that today’s date is one in a million.
It will never happen again
.11/11/11 .
I know I am lucky to live in a wonderful country and have those that fought for us to thank for what they did.
They Shall Grow Not Old
As We Who Are Left Grow Old
Age Shall Not Weary Them
Nor The Years Condem
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET

One in a million! I did not know that. Let there be no more war. x
I have a lump in my throat every time those first notes of the Last Post are played. You're right, we should always honour those who have lost their lives fighting for what we now have.
You are spot on that we cannot let the generations who are becoming more removed from war be unaware of the scarifices of so many. They played the last post on the radio this morning while we were in the car, my 5 year old asked what the music was, so I explained how we remember the people who helped to make this a great and free country to live in.
I was very proud of my near 8 year old son who was able to tell me what today was about.
That is great you explained to your 5yr old about today…
I cringe to think how many so ignore the day.
I pulled over when the music played today and had my 1 minute’s silence.
Thanks for stopping by!!
As I said on my blog just before, while I'm a pacifist who abhors anything to do with war, I definitely think its important to respect & honour those who have lost their lives to war. Lest we forget.
11/11/11 – Lest we forget <3
